Truth be told, I hadn't even considered how the entertainment industry depicts stay at home dads because there are so few examples of it on TV, at least on the programs I'm watching. What there is quite a bit of though is dads who just walk out and abandon the family. I used to think it was mis-representative but as I open my eyes to experiences other than my own, I see the thoroughly depressing reality of so much modern parenting (defining modern as 1970s onwards...).
