The most honest answer I can give is it seems genetically encoded into our DNA, and it doesn't matter if you're a frat boy or a tech nerd or a "one of the girls" gay — we all do it! And it's only exhausting if you feel like someone else is winning. Also — if you say "Hang on, stop interrupting me" the other boys will roll their eyes and say "Get over yourself." Men.
