Interesting article. I wonder if part of the totally understandable reluctance is it's not really our fight. We can be supportive but "Smash the Patriarchy, etc." is language which is ultimately quite critical of masculinity in many of its forms. As a banner to unite, it seems to do the opposite because of its alienating language. Just a thought. Am happy to be proven wrong!
