I think this falls into the "pretty boy" syndrome. Very good looking men are often called this by other men—as a way of acknowledging their aesthetic beauty, but also making fun of it by "condemning" it as effeminate. And a number of men who are blessed this way—I'm thinking Leonardo Di Caprio in The Beach—then go out of their way to ditch the prettiness in favour of a rugged, more "macho" look. Which is a great pity because Leo really was a 10/10.
