Great review. It's been a couple of years since I watched CMBYN but Oliver's arrogance really stands out; I don't personally find that attractive but apparently some teenage boys/boys in their early twenties do. And the father's speech, which you rightly quote in full; there is such beauty in those words, and a sense of giving Elio permission to have had that experience in order to make himself less ashamed of his desire, in some way...
