Great article. For me, I think one of the most worrying thematic developments of the current UK zeitgeist is the pincer movement of (i) evermore punitive legislation aimed at "stopping things" rather than "enabling things" and (ii) a heavy-handed police force which seeks to "impose itself" on the population at large rather than light-touch policing by consent in the time honoured UK tradition.
