Blindsided by a life partner is a subject I find endlessly fascinating. Partly because I have been blindsided and would prefer it not to happen again. But also because it is so commonplace, really everywhere, all the time. What does this say about modern concepts of love and marriage? The people who we like to think know us the most (and vice versa) turn out to act in totally unrecognisable ways.
